Mission San Xavier del Bac - Pima County, Arizona (1988 - present)
Mission San Xavier del Bac, constructed between 1783 and 1797, is the oldest intact structure in Arizona, dating to the late 18th Century -- a time when George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were just beginning the American experiment. Since 1988, Bob Vint has served as the Preservation Architect for the Mission, performing technical and aesthetic research, documentation, specifications and construction administration for the exterior conservation of this registered National Historic Landmark. Constructed of low-fire clay brick, stone and lime mortar, the entire structure is roofed with elliptical masonry vaults, making it unique among Spanish Colonial buildings within U.S. borders.
